We are situated in the pretty village of Buxworth, just yards from the famous Bugsworth Canal Basin, an historical monument, recently restored and popular with canal boaters cruising the picturesque Peak Forest Canal. The nearby Navigation Inn, sitting by the canal basin, was once owned by the actress Pat Phoenix (Elsie Tanner from Coronation Street) and serves traditional pub meals.
There is a small attractive church within walking distance of the cottage, and local shops, Indian Restaurant and Chinese takeaway can be found in Chinley, the next village. There is a Tesco supermarket a few minutes drive away or should you prefer to walk, it will take you 15 minutes along the pretty canal towpath past the famous “Teapot Row” cottages where the residents were once well known for emptying their teapots in the canal. Today the canal is a haven for wildlife, canal boaters and walkers alike.

Buxworth is situated not far from the A6 between Buxton and Disley.
Travelling from Buxton, take the A6 signposted to Stockport and Manchester. At the end of the Chapel en le Frith bypass, there is a roundabout with a left turn to Whaley Bridge (and Tesco). Continue straight on towards Stockport and a short distance further on is a road to the right signed to Buxworth and Chinley. Take this road and continue …………. Miles into the village and 30mph area. Turn right down the hill, onto Brookside. Waters Reach is the next to last cottage on the left before you reach the Canal Basin and Navigation Inn.
Travelling from the north
take the A6 from Stockport signed to Buxton.
Pass through Furness Vale and after leaving the village you will pass under a railway bridge. Immediately after the railway bridge is a sharp turn to the left signed to Buxworth and Chinley. If you miss this turning continue a few hundred yards to the roundabout and double back on yourself to the junction again. Take this road and continue …………. Miles into the village and 30mph area. Turn right down the hill, onto Brookside. Waters Reach is the next to last cottage on the left before you reach the Canal Basin and Navigation Inn.
Arriving by Train
The nearest Railway Station is at Whaley Bridge on the Buxton to Manchester Line.
There is also a station at Chinley on the Sheffield to Manchester line.

The nearest airport is Manchester Airport and taxis are available to bring you to Buxworth.
